Using Vyneron Offline: Read and Capture Without a Connection

Vyneron Team·

The moments you most need to capture a task are often the moments you have no signal — underground, mid-flight, in a basement meeting room, out where the bars drop to zero. A task manager that goes blank without a connection fails exactly when you need it.

Vyneron's installable app (PWA) now works offline: read what you've already got, and capture new tasks and notes that sync the moment you're back online.

TL;DR: Install Vyneron as an app, and you can read your existing tasks and notes with no connection. Create new tasks and notes offline too — they go into a queue and sync automatically when you reconnect. No lost thoughts, no "I'll add it later."

What works offline

  • Read your existing tasks and notes. Open the app with no signal and your data is there — no spinner, no blank screen.
  • Create new tasks and notes. Capture a thought offline and Vyneron queues it. You'll see a hint that it'll be saved when you reconnect, so you know it's safe.
  • Automatic sync. The next time you're online — Vyneron replays the queue and your offline captures land in your account, available everywhere.

When you're offline, you'll see a small banner letting you know, so there's never any doubt about what's happening: you're offline; items you create will sync when you reconnect.

How to set it up

Offline mode lives in the installed app, so the one step is installing it:

  1. Open Vyneron in your browser and install it as an app (Add to Home Screen on iPhone/Android, or install from the address bar on desktop).
  2. Open it once while online so it has your latest data.
  3. That's it — next time you lose signal, the app still opens and you can keep reading and capturing.

Honest limits (so nothing surprises you)

This is the first offline release, scoped to the two things that matter most — not losing access and not losing a thought:

  • New captures sync; existing items are read-only offline. You can create tasks and notes offline, but editing or deleting items that already live on the server waits until you're back online (you'll see a "can't edit while offline" note). Editing existing items offline — with proper conflict handling — is a planned follow-up.
  • You need the installed app, loaded at least once online. Offline support comes from the installed PWA; open it online once so it has your data cached.
  • Sync happens on reconnect, not in the background while closed. Your queued items go up the next time the app is online — reliably, across devices.

Why this matters for capture

Vyneron's whole premise is removing friction between I need to do that and it's saved. Offline mode extends that to the worst-case environment: no signal at all. Combined with capturing straight from Telegram when you do have a connection, the gap where good intentions go to die keeps shrinking.

Offline mode is part of a larger June update — see What's New in Vyneron for the full list. Install it free and try opening it with your connection off.
